I have a 530W PSU from Thermaltake and I'm not sure if thats enough for my R9 280x Matrix from Asus. Should I buy a better PSU? Should I just try them out together or will that harm my hardware?

Check this page if you want

I think 500 watts is the minimum requirement for that card. Yours can be enough but i wouldn't try OC'ing that GPU. I'd feel safe with a minimum of 600 watt PSU

it all depends on your cpu and if its overclocked and any other materials in your build that would draw more power. But agree with the above 600watt for anything just to feel safe. hey I got an overkill 850 watt power supply just to future proof my pc eventho my pc atm doesnt even pull 400 watts right now at full load

oooohhh . . .It will be very risky, a 280x is meant for 600+ PSU. You will be able to run it but it will be risky. I think you should upgrade to this:http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCZ-OCZ-ZS650W-UK-Series-Bronze...
A very reliable PSU that can handle a 280x.
