True, also, switch the motherboard out with an AM3, since you will get more support for it on the Athlon II since it was made originally for that motherboard (And you could still upgrade to a Phenom II if you wanted!)

First, I would get a air cooler (spinq is for 35£ on ebay) and get a fx 6300 cpu
You dont need that fast rams, they do not give noticeable performance rise
7950 is £180 on dabs, it is faster than 7870/270x
I am not quite sure if you need a 650W psu, a 550/600W would be more than enough at 80 plus rate

And try to order from one place, beacuse the shipping cost will be reasonably big. It would be cheaper to order from one place.

this is a revision of your build

FX 6300
212 EVO
Radeon 7870 XT
XFX 550
including LED 23" Monitor

dont be hesitate to change it into your liking

The 750K is completely unrelated to athlon. they are a10-5800k's without the iGPU. they only work on FM2 or FM2+ sockets. Also to the OP get a fm2+ board to 'future-proof' your system as you can upgrade when kaveri comes out

He stated above that he was getting an Athlon II, or is that his old build?

Its AMD's weird naming scheme. the athlon II x4 750k 760k and x2 370k have no relation to athlon II's on other sockets. these are the gimped out APu's without the iGPu's and are great for the moeny. i for one have a 760k Oced to 4.5ghz and love it!

Believe it or not shipping is only £2.00!
Also want a modular psu.

change the psu as a company such as CM or corsair is more known for power supplies than "Be Quiet"

otherwise pretty solid build
