What graphics card should I upgrade to? £250 budget

I would like to upgrade my graphics in preparation for the Xbox One and PS4's launch to play all games for the next few years on good graphics settings.

Here are my specs at the moment:

GPU: AMD 6850 1GB VRAM
CPU: FX 6300 3.5 GHZ
Power Supply: 750W
RAM: 8GB DDR3

I was thinking of the R9 280x which has released recently, because of it's huge VRAM and awesome price for the performance, what do you guys think?

well your CPU is FX6300 which is a good one. not the most powerful one but still good, at least enough to bottleneck the R9-280X completely. and for a 300$ price tag the card itself is also quite good.

but the main thing now is your PSU. what brand is it from and what model. if its a cheap generic one you might consider replacing the PSU too. regardless of the fact that its a 750W one.

My power supply is decent, its 80 plus bronze and has been awesome for the past 2 years. :D

It wont bottleneck it completely, but I would get better performance from an i5.
