I want to play the new game "call of duty : ghost" but it seems I have a problem with my graphic card .I have an asus M3N-HT deluxe mobo and 2 Nvidia GeForce 9800gt card .When I want to play the game via steam I get a massage error related to the graphic cards. So are my cards incompatilble ? can I upgrade them ? to what kind in order to play the game and to be compatible with my mobo .

probably a DX11 issue. I don't think that 9800GT's were DX11

You might be able to force the game to run in DirectX 9. Might not work though. The game is very new and really made for DX11.

In your Steam client, right-click on Call of Duty Ghosts in the games list.
Select Properties.
In the window that comes up, click 'SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...'
Type in "-dx9" without the quotes and click ok.

Hopefully it works. Good luck!

yes they are pci-e .what about the specs of the card (ie:graphic adapter memory /graphic adapter memory type / memory bandwidth / memory bus / memory clock speed) are they important or not ? was thinking of getting either those 3 :
ASUS GeForce GT640-2GD3 - 2GB - PCI-E
ASUS GeForce GT630-2GD3 - 2GB - PCI-E
ASUS GeForce GT640-1GD5-L - 1GB - PCI-E
which one you recommad for my mobo type and for the game ....
now I have two SLI at the moment ..would I need need still 2 or one would be enough

650ti boost super clocked if 660 is out... the super clocked gives you more fps than the regular 650ti boost cards so you will be just a hair below 660 performance.

I suppose I could make and effort if it is worth updating to this one " ASUS GeForce GTX650TI-PH-1GD5 - 1GB - PCI-E "
if I as to go with that one would this solve all my current problem ? what must I do to install it ? just change graphic card and restart pc ? or is there special steps to follow ?

no, i'd want more power, but then that's what I always want. you might have to turn settings down to get decent frame rates out of it. but ghost is built on an old enginem so you'll be able to cope, min spec is 450, and 650ti is much much better.

Wait till you can get something better.

Look at the second graph

Even a GTX 690 or Titan can't get average 60fps. GTX 660 does 37fps...

What a crappy port well done Activision.

the r270 (non x) should be about the same in price as 660 with better performance in less there is a 660 price drop but not sure about the prices in your country

When changing to a new card, do a complete uninstall of the existing graphics drivers, before physically replacing the card. Then install the latest drivers from AMD or Nvidia depending on the GPU you have.

I've seen cases where it still reports the old card after installing a new one although it's from the same GPU brand. That can happen when you don't uninstall the driver before running the new card, causing the system to be confused.

I didn't know gtx760 was in the picture! Never a bad idea to get a gpu more powerful than you were originally planning on.

For me an eye opener was playing far cry 3 on my r6850 (a $200 card 3 years ago) and seeing a gtx670 8 months ago for $330. The game was not fun until I upgraded... Totally loved it after! While we are on the topic of saving/spending more a gtx670 for $260 (usd) if you shop around.

The 270x is surprisingly close to my card on amd favored games for $200.

Do you have 2 6 pin power (2 molex 4pin can make 1 6pin with adapter)? I think all 3 of those cards require 2 6pin/ 500w psu
