I've had my computer for nearly a year, about 11 months, and after a few months of using it, I would have to hold down the power button a little longer than normal for it to turn on. A few days ago I had to press it down 3 times for it to power on. Now... I can press the button 100 times and it will not turn on.

For now I have to use the power button on the motherboard, which work fine.

Thanks in advance,

Solution

Use a solder iron and a little solder to fix the wires, use help from youtube videos. I fixed mine this way only thing I did was took out a switch from a old case instead of buying one :) . Hope it helps.

I have checked both at the motherboard and the front panel and I can assure that they are connected. Later today I may look more closely at the motherboard pin just in case. But nothing is out of the ordinary

I dont think I could RMA it since the case has been owned for over a year, since the case has been owned for over a year. However, the paperclip test did work and I have currently switched my Power And Reset buttons for now. I'm no electrical engineer though so it may take me a while to figure out how to put in a new button

What kind of case do you have?
