i am planning on getting the XFX pro series 850watt gold certified modulare power supply and was wondering if thats enough to support and fx 8350(4.3ghz) and 2 amd r9 290(non X) version

with gold certification, usually you can pull 1000+ watt from that thing..
then yes, 850 gold is too much..
Even with 550-600 watt gold you can safely run it..
