Disk 0 shows 3 partitions. 1. Healthy, Active, Recovery Partition. 1.46GB

2. C: Healthy, Boot, Pagefile, Crash Dump, Primary Partition. 451.3GB

3 Primary Partition 13GB.

All are on Disk 0. It is the 3rd that I question ... no drive letter, .. is that 13GB I could add to the 2nd???

This machine is factory partitioned. I do not know what that 3rd partion is or how to find out. Any help is appreciated in advance.

Go into Disk Management and assign a drive letter to it. Then go into Windows Explorer and enable "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Look in your new drive for any files. As was stated earlier, it may contain files to restore the system. If you don't...

Thank you for the quick reply. The recovery partition is the 1st one ... I am questioning the 3rd one. I cannot tell what is in the 3rd as it is not accessible. No drive letter.

Go into Disk Management and assign a drive letter to it. Then go into Windows Explorer and enable "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Look in your new drive for any files. As was stated earlier, it may contain files to restore the system. If you don't find any files, you can expand your C: drive to encompass the new space.

Sounds good. Being this MAY be some kind of factory partitioning, once I follow your instructions . and determine I need to KEEP the partition, how do I then remove the drive letter??? thereby leaving everything 'factory'?

thank you.

No real need to remove the drive letter but if you so wish, just go into Disk Management and follow the same steps to "Change Drive Letter and Paths" and select a blank drive letter.

thank you Scout. Machine way out of warranty. Doubt the mfg will support any of my questions. If not resolved here, will go to their user forum.

OK .. Disk management ... shows options to include CHANGE DRIVE LETTER AND PATHS .. but all are grayed out except DELETE VOLUME. Strange, eh? Maybe I better leave it alone ... but now I am curious. Any comments? thank you again.
