I have been researching for a gaming pc, since I am done with console and want to move on. I have a budget of no more than nine hundred to spend. I don't need a os, keyboard, mouse, monitor within this budget. What would be the best build I could put together. I was looking at the new r9 280x, but can't keep the build under $900. It can be whatever parts or beand it takes I don't reallt care. Thanks in advance for the help, Jeff.

It depends on what resolution and which games you want to play. Like Andy mentioned (this build is more or less in the same level of his), this should play most games on high/ultra at 1080/1200p res. It should play BF4 satisfactorily for example. Very balanced system for the cost in my opinion, almost ideal

I would like to play at the highest res possible and I'm looking at monitors that are 1080. I like to play a variety of games like bf4 and like crisis 3 also gta. It seems It would play them at high to ultra right. Do you think this is the best build under 900

This system is the best you can get for 900 bucks :) There are some other possibilities but that would spoil the balance of this system. it doesn't have a monitor and OS by the way. For example:

Yes I don't need an os or monitor because I already have both. So the one you just put together with the 290 wouldn't be as good as the other build with the 280 since I would have to get a worse cpu?

Firstly, i am not sure if the case in this will be able to handle a R9 290 in size. This second build is much better for gaming BUT R9 290 is a new card and these are sold with bad reference cooler at the moment. To be honest, there can be heating or noise issues with this one. Because the reference cooler must run at higher speeds to cool down the card, and this makes high degree of noise. If you can wait some time (like a month or a little more) there will be R9 290 GPUs with after market coolers around. As you see i had to cut down from CPU and the case to be able to upgrade to a better GPU. It is all up to your choice. If you say you can handle the possible issues, this system is a stronger gaming machine
