Is the powercolor 7870 MYST for $140 worth it over the sapphire 7870 ghz non tahiti for $170? Even with the cooling issues on the powercolor?

Solution
OK let me clear up some stuff here.

Heat :
The Myst does run a little warm because of the crappy cooler design, BUT with good enough ventilation it will not be an issue as the card is designed to exhaust air OUT of the chassis.

Performance :
Yes the cards is based on a cut down Tahiti, so its VERY similar in performance to the HD7950(vanilla, not BOOST). At one stage we never even could suggest getting the HD7950 unless people were planning to overclock, THATS how close the performance is BEFORE overclocking.
You will NOT max out ALL games at 1080p, but you will get very close.

Quality :
Other than the cooler, that card is of good quality.

Price :
AMAZING at 140$. Its the best performance you can get for under 200$

What cooling issues? The Powercolor MYST HD 7870XT is essentially a Radeon HD 7930. It's a bargain at that price because it's faster than the HD 7870 GHz edition.

Why, is an answer from a Graphics card master and AMD expert not enough? Are you hoping that someone says "NO! DON'T GET IT!"?
Novuake is a Graphics Card Master and AMD Expert. If he says it is, then it is. He had to earn those badges just like I had to earn my Graphics Card Authority and AMD Advocate badges. He is 100% correct.

The Powercolor 7870XT runs fairly warm, that's the "cooling issue" he was asking about, though that's nothing to worry about really.

It's nice to see more than one comment in a thread and "newcomers" to the site will think that way especially, such as yours to confirm Novuake's comment.

You are considerably newer than he is. Just FYI... :D

Hell im newer than him, just more active.

The only shame right now is that it's current out of stock, just like this 7950 which is also a great buy at its price point, complete with a much better cooler

Ah oops didn't check the date he joined ahaha, I'll rephrase that into "someone looking for advice" :D

@ Zenan: Yes, you're getting a faster card for less cash.
Some are bothered about the cooler, but a GPU can run at high temperatures without issue for YEARS.
It is a little more sensitive to case ventilation than some, so it may pay you to install better front intake fan/s in the system case and tidy up the internal wiring at the same time as you install the card to give the cooler a nice, steady stream of cool air.
If I were you I'd get to the checkout while the offer is still there, that card was never made in great volumes so stocks are drying up fast.
