Hello. Recently (month or 2 ago) I got a new pc (mostly) here are the parts I bought

FX 6300
NZXT M59 case (fits 10" cards i think)
Gigabyte 78lmt (latest revision) mobo
8gb ddr3 ram
And I re-used my old gpu which is the nvidia 9800. I currently use a 1360x768 screen but plan to upgrade that sometime. so I want a new gpu. Doesnt have to be the best, hoping to stay under $200, looking for the best bang for my buck and would like to stay nvidia but only because I hear amd has driver issues. The cards I've been looking at are the GTX 760 (little over $200) the radeon 7870, from what I can tell its a great gpu and frequently goes on sale for about $160 which is great. and the new R9 270x, seems to be about the same as the 760 but a little cheaper. the main thing keeping me from getting the 7870 or 270x is I always hear their drivers have issues and certain games just do not like those cards, is it really that big of a problem?

So should i get one of those 3, if so which one, or is there another card around the same price thats better?

Okay any specific brand to go with, MSI, ASUS, HIS, etc. and should I stick with 2gb or will it be worth it to get the 4gb. From what I know it will mainly help with muilti monitor/ above 1080p gaming, if that is all i'll probably get 2gb.

since the R270x is just a re-release of the 7870 i think i'll get the 7870, most benchmark show it within a margin of error. i will likely be getting the msi one or sapphire one since the HIS one is just barely too big for my case. One thing worries be and that is drivers. are amd drivers that bad or is it usually easy to fix/not really a problem?

The drivers are fine really. I've been using my 7950 for almost a year and never had issues even with beta drivers. Just make sure that when downgrading or switching between WHQL drivers, to uninstall the previous one first. And not to use the AMD Catalyst Uninstall Utility in Windows 8 because it's not made for Win8 and will mangle the OS bad.

after reading reviews and benchmarks I decided I will get this gpu

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484

the powercolor pcs+ 7870 myst. It uses the newer tahiti gpu that the 7950 uses but has some things cut out to make it more like a 7870. from what i've read its about the same or better than a 660ti and it comes with the never settle thing, 2 free games is always good :D. I just double checked, the card is 10.5 inches and it will fit in my case, the power plugs on the top and not the back so it should fit nicely. Thanks for the Help
