Overclock from 3.4 to 4 GHz

The base speed of my AMD Athlon X4 750K Processor is 3.4 GHz,if I were to overclock it to 4.0 GHz would I require say a new fan or something?


It also says the processor is 3.4 GHz base and 4.0 max turbo,can anyone explain what that means too?

The turbo feature is kind of like a build-in overclocking, but it is not using all the cores to achieve that clock rate. If you were to overclock your CPU to 4.0ghz, you would be increasing the clock rate of all your cores to that speed, which is why you'd require an aftermarket cooler to prevent your CPU from overheating.

So if I were just to use turbo would I not require an aftermarket cooler?
