will a pcie 3.0 graphics card work in a pcie 1.0 motherboard?

hi guys I need to know if a g41m p26 motherboard is compatible with a sapphire r7 250 2gb ddr3 graphics card?? I mean the card is pcie 3.0 and the motherboard is pcie 1.0

If it were a pcie 1.1 or better then you could have eaten the performance loss BUT the gpu would have most likely worked with no other issues.

As you have a 1.0 slot there could be serious compatability issues with newer cards, so you would need to buy the card and test it out yourself.

Look into the bios versions of that mobo, there may be a fix for > 2.0 version cards.



The safest bet would be to find a 2.0 card as those seem to have no issues running on a 1.0 slot.
