Power for two graphic cards

I have a Radeon 7870 graphic card connected to a 1000 watt power supply. I added a 7850 Radeon card. The cards are couple with the dongle cable. Does the second card (7850) have to be plugged into the power supply as well? Thanks.

Yes it does. Any video card that you put into your computer and has the separate power connectors has to be connected to the power supply to work.
