I want to start making YouTube videos where I will be recording myself in front of a whiteboard talking about stuff. I will be getting the blue yeti (microphone) to record the audio (ill sync it up in post production).

What I need is a decent 1080p camera and my question is, will my Galaxy S4 do? I don't need anything professional, just good enough to make youtube videos where people wont cringe. So far my lighting isnt the best (its a bit dim) but Ill probably add another lamp or two. The test recordings look pretty good so far. What would you guys suggest?

Note: I have a 32GB MicroSD card that my videos get put on.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1876158/picking-...
There are some good suggestions for camcorders from Sony and Canon. The Galaxy S4 might do but I think you would do better with a camcorder. If you don't have one I would suggest getting a tripod as well.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I also have a Sony CX100. Would this be better than my S4? I'm under the impression it isn't but I might be wrong.

I have a tripod so im good from that front.

Shoot some test footage with the S4 and CX100 to see which has better low light performance. That would be the easiest way to tell. If neither is satisfactory then you may want to consider a camcorder purchase.
