Should I use a HDMI cable or DVI-D cable for 1080p 60Hz?

I have a 1080p monitor that runs at 60Hz

Should I use a DVI-D cable or HDMI cable. From what I know I 'think' that both cables do support 1080p resolutions at the same 60Hz refresh rate. So which one should I use. By the way I dont really care about getting any audio signal on the monitor.

DVI and HDMI have identical image quality because they're essentially the same thing, HDMI is just a derivative of DVI with encryption and audio if I'm not mistaken. Since you dont need the audio and computers wont encrypt the signal unlike some copy protected devices there's no conceivable advantage/disadvantage to using either.

Personally I'd chose DVI since its more robust for outputting at higher resolutions if the need ever arises and you can connect it more securely without the risk of it coming lose if it gets tugged.

Thanks for clarifying :) yep I am never going to use the audio out on the monitor so I guess ill just go ahead and use either cable although I might use DVI because of the fact that the cable was provided with the monitor wheras my HDMI cable I purchased by itself.
