When i try to open local disc //:E my PC shows up saying access is denied

i have some important data in it how can i access it without formatting.when opened it yesterday it was working properly but when i started my pc today i could'nt open it please help

Is your E drive a hard drive or DVD drive?

Right click on the drive, and click properties. Check the security tab to verify that your user has access to that drive.

and my drive is a hard drive.
but sir i even tried to open it as administrator but it didn't open

Sometimes even the administrator can lose rights to a location. Check the security tab to see who has rights on that drive.
