I'd like to know the amount of wattage, speed, and performance on BF4.Here's my current PC set-up.

Motherboard:ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
Processor:AMD FX-8320
RAM:G.SKILL Ripjaws 8 GB (2X4GB)
Storage:WD Black 1TB HDD
Optical Drive:ASUS 24x DVD Burner
GPU:Sapphire Radeon Toxic R9 280X?

Thanks in advance:)

More about : 280x 8320 play nice

Id go for a PSU of around 650 or higher.

With the implementation of MANTEL that will be available on all AMD graphics cards, BF4 will be able to run a TON faster than it can already.

Thats all speculation for now, as much as I myself anticipate mantle to offer significant performance gains, its unfair to provide OP that kind of assurance until AMD have demonstrated the technology and its actual performance.

In terms of performance OP, you'd probably be looking at slightly slower than a GTX780 , almost guaranteed 60fps at ultra 1080p settings though. This might be useful to you:

Like Kingbob said, a 650w power supply is good. You could probably get away with 550w but given that the toxic uses a fair bit more power than standard 280x's though (has a higher vcore) and its a good overclock, a 650w will be preferable.

Enjoy the card if you do decide to get it, I wanted one but live in Aus so theres basically nowhere to buy it from :(

That's true. I think we can assume it will be at least a modest 5-10% gain which will still make a huge difference. But youre right, I shouldnt be too misleading :p

I'm actually hoping for as much as 15-20% on CPU limited configurations given that AMD say it drastically increases draw calls. Keep an eye on APU 2013 coming up in the next few days, first promised public demonstration of it :D

Thank you so much for the help everyone!I'm going to take into account everything but one more question,if you don't mind.If i get a bigger PSU then needed will it short circuit the parts?

Yeah I'm hoping for around 20% too. I really hope that mantle becomes big, its a very good concept. It also really helps that the ps4 and xb1 have variations of it too.

And no, a bigger power supply will not hurt you at all.

Haha a higher capacity PSU won't cause you any issues, its having a cheap PSU with insufficient wattage and overloading it that can short out your components.

Given you're going with Corsair thats not really much of an issue since they have short circuit protection. Also the 650 watt is more than enough, a 550w would serve you just as well, the 650 is just extra insurance in case you decide to overclock and put your system under a COMPLETE load (which is only theoretically possible)
Play around with this if you like, its fairly accurate:

According to AMD, mantle has pretty much been designed to be identical in terms of to the metal code as the X1 and PS4. Apparently its a full API though so it'll probably need at least 1 of the consoles backing it. That wont be the X1 (since microsoft want to push DX11 on it, so that leaves the PS4, which to be honest is looking to be the more powerful console at the moment anyway).

This will be helpful to you if you haven't already seen it:

Nice article. Yep it looks like Sony will be very important. If they decide to roll with mantle and game developers go with that (develop for pc and ps4=more potential money) then Microsoft may be forced to change their policy leading to nvidia who will start to feel some heat. I certainly dont want a monopoly, I just love all of this GPU competition.
