Ok well I just moved from a 60hz monitor and I have to say I am impressed with the smoothness IF I can keep above 120fps in games.

For some reason (especially in bf4 where it dips to about 70-80fps) my monitor stutters even if my frames go to about 110. It's a very slight stutter but it's present and annoying to see in fps online games.

Now I have my monitors refresh rate set to 120hz. Using a DVI-D, installed the latest WHQL drivers from nvidia (clean install). Did a fresh install of windows 8.1

Can anyone explain this crazy crap to me? Did I just pay for microstutter?

Yes I have 2x gpu's and it makes no difference if I turn SLI off.

Rig:

3820 @ 4.60ghz
2x GTX 680's 2gb (Yes I know about the vram requirements in bf4 but it stutters regardless of what game I play).
8gb of corsair 1600mhz RAM
1x SSD 120gb
2x Mechanical drives (1tb each)
1200w PSU Corsair

Ideas?

Use adaptive v-sync, instead of standard v-sync. V-sync creates a bit of stutter if you can't maintain your refresh rate in FPS, as it will constantly jump between 16ms and 8ms frame times.

Adaptive v-sync will turn v-sync off when your FPS drops below your refresh rate.
