Solution
You need to configure your TV to your wireless network first. Look at your TV manual for specifics, but you need to enter the TV networking section and have it automatically obtain an IP from your gateway router and enter your security passkey. Once you actually have a good wireless connection, then start working on making the Netflix app work. Your TV may even want to download an update after connected, which is fine.

You should not need to connect your iPhone to the TV, and I assume that your iPhone works with your wireless Internet gateway?

No, the dongle will give you wireless capability, and if your speed is adequate you can use that to stream movies.

At the first connection, you will enter a code from the TV into your Netflix account via a computer connection, which will activate the Netflix on the TV.

Thanx RealBeast for your quick reply..! I need to know if you mean~that once the USB Dongle is in the port & also the iPhone 5..do I use the iPhone it's self to get to the Netflix site to enter a code?(while phone is also plugged in to a USB port)? We did try yesterday & used the TV remote to start typing in a code when the screen revealed the correct wifi user~but could not pick a code that would work?!(my Dad used his MAC wifi password & entered it without success) the homepage screen that I had seen before has not appeared on the TV~we do have this Netflix setup & avail~I am wondering if we need to pick another option on screen like "Ad Hoc"?!! The point is that the "ICON" for the APP "Netflix has not been triggered to appear on that page I saw before that showed Netflix & others entertainment options. I hope you have a logical solution~as I am having difficulties in explaining what troubleshooting I HAVE done~& what needs to be done!!?! LOL...forgive me for my lack of High Tech prowess...help
