Hi guys,

So I'm looking to build a new system this month and I have a budget of around $1000ish give or take $150.

My main uses for the system are: Gaming, Screen Capture While Gaming, Video Editing, Web Design, Graphics Work, so I feel I need a powerful option.

If you can see somewhere I can save money and keep performance or see any clear mistakes I've made please help me out. This laptop I'm stuck on at the moment has to go and I need a decent gaming machine.

The 8350 is great but if you want to save some money without losing performance, get the 8320.Its an underclocked 8350.
Not sure about that cooler. Most find that the CM 212 EVO does a good job of keeping the CPU cool.Overclock your 8320 to 8350 speeds

2x 4gb sticks of RAM would give you better performance. One more thing, check if you have enough clearance between your cooler and RAM prior to buying your rig.

EDIT:D on't get that PSU.This would be better.

I know the case is subjective but the corsair 300r is fantastic at $50

here is revision of your build

cpu cooler (on sale)
ram should be 2x 4GB, not single stick 8GB
dont cheap out in PSU, i swap with corsair TX 650
maybe you want all AMD build, you can always swicth back AMD R8 280X in this build with gtx 770

Hi thanks for the reply, The only reason I picked 1x8bg over 2x4 is so I can upgrade to 2x8 quickly, in the future at some point in the near future.

I will look into the cooler, I purely picked that based on the low noise output. I wanted to stay away from liquid cooling as I feel that I could break and kill everything inside my computer.

Is there much of a performance difference between the amd r9 and gtx 770 ?
Would it be better for the system to keep it all amd or would it not matter in the long run?

with 2x 4GB you can always drop another pair to fill all 4 slots ram
full slot ram will looks awesome :)

AMD Radeon has a good build above.Look into that as well. Not sure about the performance difference for the two cards.I'm sure it won't be enormous. And if you are playing at 1080p,you won't notice the difference. That's my take on it,anyway
4 full slots of RAM does look good.Looks beefy.

nope, 4 slots of ram is still running in dual channel configuration
The performance should be about the same. A benchmark may be able to see a slight difference.
In general, 2 sticks is more easy for the systems memory controller
