need help in OC

i am noob to overclocking xD
i want to oc my processor intel 4670k to 4.0 ghz
my specs are:-
Cooler Master 431 Plus CASE
MSI Z87 G-43 Gaming motherboard
Intel 4670k(LGA1150)
Kingston HyperX 8GB (8x1)
Cooler Master 600watts thunder PSU

the truth is that 4x2 would be way better!there are many programs where y can oc the cpu but i dont really recommend them!the best way is through the bios!however i have to say that oc the cpu only if its really needed otherwise there is no reason to stress it!

It is possible by just changing your multiplier in your bios. Unlocked CPU's are the easiest to overclock.
What kind of cooler do you have on your CPU? Stock coolers usually aren't recommended for overclocking.
If you could buy another matching stick of ram that might help some with performance but I don't know how much. Most ram is meant to run in dual channel mode with 2 matching sticks
