will an amd fx4100 at 3.6ghz (normal speed) bottleneck a gtx 760 both not being overclocked, and if i overclock the processor will it stop the bottlenecking?

You're definitely not going to get 100% out of a 760 using a FX 4100, so yes.

You will probably still get playable fps though. What monitor are you using?

Yeah it will most likely bottleneck, being a bulldozer FX an' all. Overclock would help to stop the bottleneck but as CTurbo said you probably won't see the full potential of the GPU.

the monitor i will be using will be a tv screen at 720p even with the bottleneck could i run games like battlefield 4 on Ultra at 720p with playable fps?

Yes it will be fine on 720p. You know the 760 is absurd overkill for 720p right?

CTurbo said:
The 4100 is roughly equal to the 2.4ghz Celeron G530. That about sums it up.

just because they get the same rating on one website does not mean they have the same performance. the fx4100 is twice as powerful as the G530

should be fine on a 720p resolution but there will be some bottlenecking but you will most likely not notice while playing

Fair enough. Really it was a shot at the 4100's TERRIBLE single core performance. It's 3.6ghz is roughly equal to the g530's 2.4ghz. Fact.
