Hi there. Yesterday i got ps3 super slim 12 gb model (today upgraded with my laptop's used hdd XD), and yesterday i was playing gta 5 and had some problems that are taking place till now. So i have an LG ips224v 1080p monitor, my PC is hooked up to it via VGA cabel, and now so is the ps3 but via HDMI cable. Whenever i play gta 5, i notice the resolution is not 1080p (it's more like 720p i guess), and every single time i QUIT the game, the screen goes black, then shows "D-SUB power saving mode" and idk why but it either switches itself to PC and shows the desktop, or stays in the power saving mode till i press the "input/exit" button some times and it shows the ps3 menu. I think it may be because of changing the resolution of the screen, but i'm not sure. Please help me, any advice is welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
Most ps3 games only run at 720p, and the operating system runs at 1080p, so it will change resolution automatically when the game starts. So maybe try setting the resolution to 720p so it doesn't switch when the game starts up.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately I have already tried that, but the main menu looked so terrible, that i had to change it back to 1080p. Can i change some settings in the monitor, which would make it NOT to change to D-Sub, whenever it didn't receive signals via HDMI? I mean whenever it changes the resolution, it immediately changes to D-SUB, and so i tried to just unplug my PC from the monitor and this is what happened. I quit the game, the screen went back, and the monitor again changed to D-SUB, saw there was no connection and went to "D-SUB power saving mode".

I can't think of anything else you can do other than just keep the resolution at 720p. I know what you mean, the letters look blurry on this resolution but you might just have to deal with it, or hook your ps3 up somewhere else.
