Pc jack not working...well i think that's the problem.

Hello, so when i plug in the headset i don't get any sound from the headset, but if i like hold the microphone jack the microphone will work, but if i do that on the headset one it won't. What's the problem here? and i'm using VIA HD audio deck as my main audio manager,
my specs are
geforce gt 520
dual core cpu e5700 @ 3.00ghz
4 gb ram

Are you using your front panel jacks or the ones on the back of the motherboard. Either way, try the other, see if the headset works - most of the time with headsets, it's the wiring in the cable of the headset that gets broken and is not a jack issue. If it works in the back and not in the front, you can remove your front panel and check for loose or broken connections - if it doesn't work in the back either then the problem is likely the headset and not the audio jacks

I kinda fixed it, I placed a book which pushes it and it works ;D well not the mic but the headset
