Hiya guys first time posting here, how are you all doing?
Okay I've got a Tagan ITZ 1100W
Previously I had an Asus Nvidia 280gtx, and it kept giving me the ''notorious'' purple screen of death whilst playing BF3 also the monitor would randomly go black and a restart would be required. So I whipped it out and put in an old radeon 850xt just so I could use my comp, and I was still occasionally getting the monitor flick off and have to restart the computer.
So I changed the psu and it has not done done it since.
Does this sound like a PSU fault? (is the evidence damning?)
I have checked the Tagan 1100w today with a multi-meter:
Paper clip trick with psu removed from comp
12.6v from the PCe plugs - between black & yellow wires
PSU Installed in comp running @ idle
12.10/12.11v from the PCe plugs - between black & yellow wires
Also all the other voltages seem to be fine, its just the PCe connectors I was more concerned about... do they look okay or too high?
I'am building a new i5 3670k & R280x rig soon and don't want to fork out for a new psu if i don't have too. But I dont want to fry my new rig with a possible dodgey PSU.
