PC runs slow after upgrade

Hello everyone! So recently I've upgraded my PC configuration, but haven't really noticed a performance increase, other than the benchmark results (games are still spiky). These are the changes that took place:
graphics card: SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON HD 5750 1GB Vapor X -> SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON 7850 HD 2GB
cpu: AMD Phenom II 955 x4 Black Edition 3.2GHz -> AMD FX 8350 x8 4.0GHz
mbo: ASUS M4A77TD PRO -> ASROCK 990FX EXTREME3
ram: 2x2GB Corsair 1333MHz -> 2x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws 1600MHz
power supply: Corsair 450W -> LC POWER Ozeanos Metatron 650W

Prior to the change in hardware, I had been running DOTA 2, a not so demanding game, on high settings. Connected with DVI on a 23'' monitor, it ran smoothly, but ever since I changed from DVI to HDMI (once I had upgraded the PC) it's been having spikes which are not associated with internet connection (ping is around 30-60). The only two components I haven't changed are HDD and optical drive, but I don't believe they are slowing the PC down. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue, I reinstalled my OS after the new components had been installed, and I've updated all of the drivers. There's one more thing. Should I replace the stock coolers? There's been some noticable heating going on around the video card, but CPU and MBO are in normal temp. ranges.
Please help me fix this, I've put alot of effort in the new PC, but it seems I've only made it worse.

Here's the place I bought it from, I'm not sure the power supply is the problem. Could the performance be slowed by a software issue? Maybe the graphics card or cpu isn't set to work in its full potential?

Sound is the problem with switching from HDMI, but shouldn't I be able to run HDMI with this configuration?

Yes you should,but i read the next and thought if you didn't need sound you could just switch back to dvi.

Like i already asked,did you install the latest drivers from the amd site?

I intend to stay on HDMI because the sound issue really was a nuisance. I have downloaded the Catalyst Software Suite from the AMD site. Should I also download all of the drivers from Asrock's page?

Those for your motherboard? Yes you should install those too,begin with the chipsetdrivers=amd all in one and after that the rest.Choose the right ones for your operating system.

I've checked and the drivers are up to date. Could my HDD be the component that's slowing down the PC? I'ts old and heats up pretty easily. I also ran a 3D mark test and scored more than 1100 points lower than the top FX8350 + HD7850 2GB (single card) combo. He clocked his GPU and CPU. We have similar memories. Am I missing out on some setting in the BIOS, or the Catalyst Center, where I can, I don't know, adjust the speed of the graphics card? I'm sure I can get out more power out of these components just don't know how.
