I have Windows XP Pro SP3 on a Dell Optiplex 620 and Avast anti-virus has several infected files stored in the chest of their program and half of these files have names like this ending in dll or exe, one file: A0005990.dll
From the C: System Volume area and several more files from Chrome, Firefox and IE in a few other non-Windows folders and yes some of these files are, I think, in the Windows folder(s) as well but not 100% sure.
Is this a virus or malware program I'm seeing and should I delete these files?
I tried fixing them btw, can't be fixed.
On a side note I noticed this virus or malware after I downloaded a few programs to update my PC, including IE8.
