Hello guys, i bought a new Gtx 770 graphics card a week ago but before i put it in, I made a thread and asked if my PSU will handle it because my PSU is a cheap non brand 700w and I was worried. But they told me that it will be fine but as soon as I get more money I should buy a new one. So i installed the card and everything seemed fine.. Until yesterday. I was playing Batman and while I was playing, my pc popped loud 2 times and spark came out of the back and the pc turned off ofcourse. Just before it popped i started to smell something weired, like something was burned and before I even check what is it, it popped. After my small shock, I removed the power cable and disconnectvthe PSU from the motherboard and everything else, and i think that it's the psu that blown because of the heat and the smell coming out of it. The only thing that I am worried about is my graphics card cause is brand new! And also all the other components were about to be replaced.. I already started saving money to reeplace the so i dont really care about anything else exept the graphics and a little about the hard drive. What do you think guys? Is it burned? Also how can I test it? I dont have any other psu to test. :(

Solution
Sounds a lot like your PSU blew, unfortunately you wont know if there is any other damage until you get a new powersupply.
If you are lucky nothing else went and just replacing the PSU will do it for you. The other items usually dont make popping noises like that.

Your PSU probably overheated. If you have the money get this power supply: http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCZ-OCZ-ZS650W-UK-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B005DJJRVQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384111952&sr=8-1&keywords=650w or this one:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B009RMP44O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1384111979&sr=8-2&keywords=600w

This is a good Semi-Modular PSU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Modular-Certified/dp/B00ALYOTTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384112644&sr=8-1&keywords=600w+modular+psu
