My hard drive and cd drive is not working after switching psu

I just got a better psu (evga supernova 1000w) but after I installed it it is only showing my ssd (samsang 840) not my hard drive (western digital black 2tb) or my cd drive. Nothing is rough with the
wires so it is ethier that they both die witch is very unlikely or I mess up the bios so I cleared the CMOS and still nothing. I am new so it is probably me screwing up the bios but it would be nice to know if my hard drive is not dead.

  1. DO you have both the power and the data cables fully attached to the drives - do they show up in BIOS at all
  2. The SSD is powered from the +5V supply whereas the WD HDD and CD drive would require both +5V and +12V power.

Therefore I would examine the WD drive for shorted TVS diodes, particularly the 12V diode.

No only the ssd shows up in bios

Examine D4 in the top right corner (12V TVS diode), and D3 in the top left corner (5V TVS diode).

You'll need a torx screwdriver to remove the PCB.
