I am considering upgrading my graphics card from 6850 to 7950. Currently I am using the ocz fata1ty 550W psu, which is a pretty mediocre psu. I was wondering if it is sufficient for an HD7950, and i5-4670k. What if I chose to overclock these components? Thanks in advance for the input.

The 7950 suggests a 500W with 2x6-pin. Your wattage is good as is your 2 6-pins and the Amps on the rails are sufficient so it should work. Depending on the age of the supply you might have a little room for an OC but I wouldn't go nuts.
