Hello

I have a question about connecting my psu to my new gpu, i have a Corsair TX850M and i have a old gpu HD4890 which connects with 2 6pins, i am gonna move my psu to my new pc and i have bought a R9 280x Toxic which requires 2 8pins, now the TX850M only have 2 6pins pci-e and 1 8pin for the cpu, but it came with some extra cables a 6pin to 8pin and a 6+2pin to 8pin, can i use those in those extra connector slot thingies on the psu or shall i get some 6pin to 8pin adapters for the 6pins?

Thanks in advance

You have a modular PSU, the TX850M comes with 4 PCI-E connectors, if you have the cables with the extra connectors on them just plug them into the PSU and use them. You shouldn't need to use any adapters with an 850W PSU, you should have 2 8/6+2 pin connectors.

There are two hardwired (6+2)-pin PCI-E cables on the TX850M. You don't need to use any of the (6+2)-pin PCI-E modular cables.

This may be a stupid question but the gpu need 2 8pins, is 6+2pins the same as an 8pin?
