have a gateway laptop NE7B series. started running EXTREMELY slow, to the point where it would freeze. tried to boot in safe mode. error message came up "no bootable device". now will not boot at all, same error message just keeps coming up. tried entering bios and resetting to default, did not work. hard drive is recognized. Please help

Your hard drive is dead and needs to be replaced
not sure if its related. but this seems to have started when google earth was downloaded. plus not sure the hard drive is the problem. its less thn a year old. plus bios shows that it is recognized.
use the drive maker test tool that will confirm drive is out .
how do I do that?

I have the same problem, if my hard drive it's dead it means that I lost all my data???!!!
@ Prixdarkheart if the maker test tool give this on the report and you stil have acces to it save all the most precious data and rma if it still under warranty if not get another one before you loose everything .
