HP Pavilion 500-046 Power Supply

I currently have a HP Pavilion 500-046 desktop and am looking to upgrade the power supply. According to the product specifications page, it currently has a 300W power supply and I would like a power supply that is 500W or more. Is it possible to do upgrade to this with this computer? If so, what would be some power supplies that I could buy that would work for this computer? Thanks.

Yes, I would like to upgrade in order to add a GPU. I've read that a PCI 3.0 x 16 graphics card will work in a PCI 2.0 x 16 slot with only a very minor decrease in performance. Is this true? Does this mean I can purchase a newer higher end graphics card for this computer?
