guys im using 1gig ram ddr2 800mhz right now.. and i just bought a 2gig ddr2 ram 800mhz today, my motherboard has 2 slots for ram.. is it ok to put it in and get a 3gig ram result and performance? or it will just gonna read just 1 slot ddr2...im using windows 7 and dualcore processor atm. tyy guys.. or do i just need to get a 2gig ram ddr2 800mhz stick for the 2nd slot (4gig ram total)

You can do it and it will work fine but I believe you will won't get the effect of dual channel mode. With that being said I doubt you would notice a difference with or without dual channel.

thank u neius.. what is the dual panel mode? what if i get another 2gig ram ddr2 800 for the 2nd slot... do i get a better performance? do the gig's gonna merge and it will read as 4gig ram running? sorry im really noobie in this.. its 2gig ddr2 ram on 1st slot at the moment.. and i really wanted to make it faster
