R9 290x reference or non-reference with water cooling

Hi there

I've recently been smitten by the idea of having water cooling so I am looking into upgrading my current rig to a water-cooled one.

I will be purchasing a R9 290x but should I go for reference or non-reference if I am to water cool it? Will it make a difference or is the cooler only thing the non-reference cards have differently?

not only will it be slightly cheaper than non-reference but the waterblock will actually fit. if any changes are done to the PCB in a non-reference card, the waterblock will no longer fit.

EK are the only ones out with a 290x waterblock at the moment arent they?
