i bought the silverstone tundra td03 and at idle my amd fx-8350 stays around 32-36 degrees celsius (normal i believe) but when at max load while playing splinter cell blacklist or crysis 2 it gets up to 80 degrees celsius and i dont know what to do. i tried re-applying thermal paste and switching where the water block was plugged into the motherboard but nothing is working. please help, i dont want to damage my processor. And if i cant fix it im thinking of buying the cooler master hyper 212 evo, can you tell me if this is a good heatsink or not. THANK YOU!

I have my water cooler plugged into my cpu fan connector, the pump runs off the cpu connector and the single fan is connected to the optional cpu connector on my ASUS board. It speeds up and slows down depending on temp. But as long as it don't exceed 80 degrees celsius in a heavy load scenario than you should be fine.
As for the Cooler Master 212 Evo, it can't be beat in my opinion. My wife has one and it does great on her core I5 under heavy load.

The thing is that my cpu has almost hit 90 degrees celsius according to speedfan, and im really nervous that its going to brin harm to the cpu. And also my games are kindof laggy even though my conputer can definitly handle these games, im thinking its because the cpu is getting to hot and its not processing fast enough.

I can understand your concern, I believe I would be looking at another cooler also. I can say the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is one of the top rated coolers so I think you couldn't go wrong with it.

I myself would not to let it exceed 65 to 70 Celsius, that is the cap for my comfort zone. I have read throttling begins around that, maybe a brief increase to 80C is O.K. but only briefly. A near 90C would cause the system to shut down. I know this is a broad explanation but I hope it will help. Thank you for picking my answer for best answer, if you need any more info msg me thru this thread.

so now i have another problem, im afraid the cooler master hyper 212 evo wont fit, im considering the ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 but im afraid its too small, im also considering the Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler but im afraid its going to be too big, can you give me some more info on these coolers if you know anything about them.

I know the hyper 212 Evo is a large cooler, my wife has one in a full size Cooler Master case. As for me I'm running a simple Corsair H60 on a core I7 4770k overclocked at a variable speed of up to 4.809 GHZ and my temps seem to be not exceeding 40C. I have an NZXT Phantom 410 mid size case with 2 top fans (140mm) - 2 Front (120) - one side (140) and 1 on my H60 (120mm). I do mostly Photo and Video editing and game only from time to time. I have not gamed since overclocking so I can't say how well it'll do on that yet. I am very pleased with the H60 cooler. I am not to familiar with the Arctic Cooler you mentioned, but at a glance I am not real Impressed. As for the Phantecs, it looks like a good one and they have a great reputation, only problem is it looks quite large.
It would be a tight fit on a mid size case unless its one that is well made and roomy.

i measured and it looks like the evo isnt going to fit in my computer case, what do you think about the Cooler Master Hyper 101i, its smaller and i think it will work the same.

This looks like it would do the trick, I believe I will order one also for my HTPC I have in my living room. it's an older Intel Core 2 Quad and has a stock cooler. This looks like it would be a good fit for the Micro ATX case I have it in. The Cooler Master 101i has great reviews and with the 80mm fan I don't see a problem fitting even smaller cases. I'd say go for it.

Alright i just bought it, (btw if you looked at the reviews on newegg they are mixed with the reviews of the 212 evo which is kinda dumb) when i get it ill post an update on my idle and load temps for my vishera fx 8350.

Good deal, I'll be looking for that review. I use Newegg 99% of the time, and I don't know why they do that. It can be very misleading. Hope it works well for you. Good luck sks220.

so here's an update, i got the heatsink to work but it still runs idle at 30C-32C and at load it runs at 80C+, i looked online and the safe operating temperature is 60C. do you know any good heatsink and fans that are definitely going to keep it cool.
