PSU Position in case

Hey guys a fairly simple question: PSU mounted up or down?

I have the Storm Stryker PC case which is equipped with a bottom air intake which also has a filter.
To compliment this I have the SilverStone Strider Gold Evolution 850 Watt. This PSU comes with a magnetic dust filter to sit over the intake fan.

Upon assembling my computer I thought that by situating the PSU facing upwards with its dust filter it would be protected.
My GPU has 3 fans on it (Gigabyte 770 GTX 4GB OC) these fans directly face the PSU intake fan system. I thought that this would improve its temperatures. However after looking through a variety of forums many people say place the PSU facing down so it gets a fresh air intake rather then the hot air of the computer. I have also found some forums saying that the PSU may hog the air flow from the GPU if its facing upwards. I personally thought it would improve temperatures as it keeps the air moving in the case?, I'm no expert so I was looking to get some thoughts/ advice/ recommendations as to whether or not I should swap it so it's facing downards, the reason I havent just swapped all the plugs, is because everything is cable tied neatly and I would need to cut them all and.. well yeah a big job for me haha.
cheers,
Zac

Solution
Let the PSU fan suck air from outside the case, and blow out the back. Let it do its own thing, rather than trying to compete with the other cooling inside the case.

Okay, so the general consensus of forums is that you should face it downwards. What about it sucking in hot air and exhausting it out?, or it improving GPU temperatures from sucking the hot air from the fans?

might see some small benefit to internal case heat by facing it upwards. however, one of the more sensitive and hot running parts in a pc in the psu. psus die and when they go they have the capability to takes the whole damn pc with them. that case has the feature of using outside air for the psu exclusively for a reason, i would take advantage of it. you did pay for it.
