Hey everyone. I am new to this site and building my computer. So bare with me. I recently owned a Dell XPS 8300 with a i5-2320 CPU. I wanted to transfer it to a new case so I did. Moved everything over and the only thing I had to replace was the power supply. My dell had it at the top while my new one had the power supply equipped for the bottom. I bought a new one because I wanted to turn it into a gaming computer. Anyways, day later I wanted to buy a new Motherboard. So I went to Frys Electronics and found a Motherboard that supported my 3rd Generation intel i5. It had a socket of 1155. The mother board I bought was a MSi Z77 Mpower.
So here is my issue, I have checked all the wires over and over again on it, but when I boot it up it gives me the BSOD. It's telling me "check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers."
This might be just a really easy fix, but only items I haven't replaced is the hard drive, RAM cards, and graphics card. All are from the original Dell XPS. Is that a reason why windows isn't booting up? And I'm getting the BSOD?
I'm open to trying anyways, for I have just tried the wires and fixing them.
Thanks!
