Screeching computer (maybe GPU)

Hi,
When is launch one of NVIDIA's demo programs like
http://www.geforce.com/games-applications/pc-applications/a-new-dawn

My computer emits a high pitched sound while the program is loading, and stops when the application is actually playing.

This doesn't happen when I play games such as BF3.

My system is:
i7 4771 @ 3.5 ghz
EVGA gtx 760 2gb
8gb g.skill @ 1866
Asus z87 pro
Thor V2 full ATX case
OCZ Fata1ity psu 550w

The hell is going on in there?

probably "coil whine." feel free to google it. it isnt a problem outside of the annoying sound.

could be either the graphics card or the psu. if your parts are new you can return them for coil whine.

If its happening when loading it will be because the program doesn't have a framerate limiter and your GPU is rendering pretty much nothing, so framerate will be in the 1000's, every card will whine at that high a framerate.

Put your ear to the back of your tower and check if it is coming from the PSU. when you hear a screaching sound it's usually the PSU on its way out , it probably happens when the pc is at full load.
If the sound does come from the PSU its time to replace it

Actually yes, feel free to load up a game from 10 years ago, turn off vsync and observe it yourself.

no. the issue here is simply the gpu working at 100 percent, it could happen at 1000 fps, it could happen at 7.

all video cards do NOT have loud coil whine under 100 percent gpu load. not sure where you heard that, but you are wrong. ive had many video cards which do not have coil whine at 100 percent gpu load.

so, no.

and im telling you, it is not related to framerate, it is related to load.

you are confused because when there is no frame limiter on and the framerate is able to climb as high as it can the gpu is put under high gpu load.

im just going to stop here, you really dont have any idea what you are talking about

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Load up something like Unigine Heaven and Fraps, load it up then hit the quit button. Guess what, framerate is in the thousands but load is near non existent. Coil whine and framerate are directly linked, feel free to use Google.
