I'm getting some inconsistent/low framerates with my card guis and I have no idea what the problem is

Far Cry 3: (max settings, which is recommended in nvidia experience,) 35 - 45fps

Chivalry: high/max settings I get 60fps while standing and 40fps while fighting. VERY annoying.

Red Orchestra 2: FPS completely random. Some areas I get 55-60fps while fighting, and in others its around 35 - 45fps. Again, very annoying.

SPECS:

gtx 680 2gb

AMD phenom II x6 1090T @ 3.2 ghz

8gb ddr3 RAM

EDIT:

Any help is appreciated, I was thinking this was a CPU bottleneck, or maybe I am just expecting more than what my rig can give.

More about : low fps gtx 680 2gb

How long have you had this setup? Your Far Cry 3 numbers aren't too bad, but you are right it's dat CPU. It's bottlenecking your GPU pretty bad. I had a Phenom II x4 965 BE at 3.8Ghz and it bottlenecked my GTX 670. Upgrading to a 3570k really boosted the FPS I got in most games by quite a bit. That's your issue, I guarantee you. I'd try to alleviate the bottleneck with an overclock if you can.

Download MSI Afterburner, check your CPU usage. I bet that would be on the high 90s or even at 100%. It MAY be a bottleneck, but just a little bit.

I haven't recently tried in other games, but in the witcher 2 there would be random sections of the game where my fps would suddenly plummet and I would get fps in the 10s, as opposed to my usual consistent 50-60.

I believe I checked msi afterburner then, and my CPU usage was PEAKING in all cores lol. At the time though, I had no problems in any of the games I was playing other then that, so I wrote it off as a glitch and moved on.

Now I can see that I'm an idiot .-. lol.

That depends, what is the CPU socket on your mobo? AM3 or AM3+?

If you have a AM3+ the best CPU right now would be a FX-8350 but I do not think that 1090t is bottle necking much it is still a good CPU for gaming

I would recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If he has AM3+, although it may almost be a better idea to switch to Intel and sell his current board and CPU. That 9370 is pretty strong though and with a $20 promo code it's pretty well priced.

If AM3, keep current CPU obviously and get a strong cooler and overclock the bejesus out of it.
