Big Problem! Tiles, apps and PC settings are opening and crashing. I got instructions online and following the instructions I attempted to fix the problem. I was instructed how to make some changes to the registry, which I did, but when I restarted the computer things got worse, some programs will not open but a popup store tile asking "How do you want to open this type of file? Look for an app in the store" is most present. I tried but could not get back into the registry to undo what had been done nor could I access command prompt to use sfc scannow as when I try the affore mentioned tile pop up. How can I fix this problem, I need your help.

Your best bet would be to use your W8 disc and run a repair with it. If that doesn't work then come back here. Hopefully that will fix it. If not we can go into the problem further. Unless of course someone else at TH has some better information.

Always backup your existing registry settings so you can always have options to revert.
"Refresh Your PC" seems to be the ultimate option you are left with, but before i would suggest you to try a reliable registry software. Cleaning the registry may work, though there are minimum chances. The one i would suggest you is Registry Recycler... Scan and Fix errors found using this freeware.
