CPU impossible question

I am upgrading CPU and I need to know if the i7 4770k beats the i7 3770k by enough for me to buy a totally new mobo for it. I have a mobo that supposed the i73770k but I hear the 4th gen is 10% better then the ivy bridge. I plan on OC the card and I currently have a "ASRock Z77 Extreme3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard". And what about the i7-4820K(which is incompatible with my mobo), is it worth buying a whole new mobo and the processor or should I just upgrade to the 3770k and save the money on buying a new motherboard.

I need your help brethren of tomshardware. Let your answers echo throughout the forum corridors with the gust of 1000 winds.

10% At best... generally haswell is anywhere from -2% to 8% faster then IB depending on the task at the same clock speed. so if you already have an i7-3770k then no... the "upgrade" to haswell is a "sidegrade" at best. Particularly for gaming... where the average fps between the chips is identical.

Not enough increase to justify spending the money. Get the 3770K & put your money into a better graphics card or SSD or something...

Honestly I wouldn't. Whether it is worth it to you is another question. The 3770k overclocks better than the haswell chips and if you really push for max overclocks, that 10% difference shrinks. Honestly, I wouldn't upgrade to a new mobo if I were you.

10% is probably at most, but on average it is less so. If you value money, there is no need to upgrade to new mobo. Differences between 3770k and 4770k are too small to spend money on new mobo.
