I have been reading a lot of different power requirements for the r290 and the 290x one was a sapphire r90x and the PSU req. was 750w and then I looked at another site and it was 550w for the 290x can someone tell what the PSU requirements are for the r290 and the 290x and would my CX750m do the job considering it is only a bronze 80 plus??

Your CX750M will be more than enough, you have nothing to worry about. Take a look at this review here:

Power supply efficiency is often misinterpreted. 80 PLUS BRONZE, or ~80% efficiency, means that when your system is pulling 100W, the power supply will be pulling 120W from the wall. The definition of efficiency is the ratio of OUTPUT/INPUT multiplied by 100(for percentage). All power supplies regardless of efficiency should be able to deliver the rated wattage, the variations in efficiency only affect the input, or power draw from the wall socket.
