Hi All
I've just bought a Seagate GoFlex 1TB external drive for backing up a photo archive that I run. I'm running a n iMac on 10.9. It all seems to be working well in terms of the actual backing up but I have problems after ejecting the drive. It ejects fine but, due to the device not having an on/off switch, it remains on in the background. When I wake my Mac. the drive lights up but it doesn't appear in the finder. Do I seriously have to unplug its USB drive every time and reconnect when I want to use it again?

You could switch it off at the wall... If you eject the device, how are you expecting it to reconnect without anything to prompt it to do so? I would be much more annoyed if I had an external hard drive that I ejected, but that kept coming on again every time the screensaver was turned off...

Yep, it looks that way. I've got 6 other external drives and this is the first Seagate one I've had. Their drives are highly recommended and so far it works fine but this is a very annoying side issue.

Anyway, thanks for your input, Szyrs.
