you are talking about 2 different things
1st one u can solder cable to your router and can connect to old satellite dish that's experimental.
2nd the setting which catches other networks and merges is WDS Bridging enable it if u have the authority to join the network u can.

You can't solder a satellite dish to any cable to connect your router. The signals used by the electronics for satellite are completely different than wireless. Your only option would be to mount the route itself at the focal point of the dish. You next problem is that the router does not run as a client. You do not want to even think about using WDS it doesn't work well when you control all the equipment yourself. If the router has WDS is likely has client-bridge mode.

If you really want to do this mount a cheap USB wireless nic at the focal point. It is mostly a waste of time there is very little out there that is open and if you really intend to use it for anything it is much simpler to buy a outdoor nic or bridge that has been optimized they have gotten very inexpensive
