Which exact cards are you looking at? Clock differences is not the only important thing since you can increase it by 150MHz and even more.

QUALITY and COOLING is more important.

its actually mine, I waited to long to RMA it and sapphire hasnt contacted me back. it's normally supposed to be at 850mhz and turbo to 950mhz. The problem is on several games it will cause the pc to crash unless its set at 800mhz. Was curious how much fps im losing from it being at 800mhz?

It's a Saphirre VaporX radeon 7950

What are the rest of your specs? Power supply especially?

What have you tried to fix the issue? Do you have the latest drivers installed?

I dont think its a card issue.

ANtec 550w 80+ psu
Phenom II x4 965 3.8ghz cpu
8gb ddr3(4sticks)
Win 7 64bit

I have tried a few different driver versions including the latest, I have tried putting my cpu back to stock and removing 2 sticks of ram. It doesn't crash during Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, Skyrim, or WoW even if I leave it at stock. It does crash in saints Row 4, Marvel Heroes, Sleeping Dogs, and Metro 2033 unless I underclock it from 850mhz to 800mhz. I have also installed a fresh version of Windows 7 on a different hard drive and unless it was underclock it was still causing the pc to freeze and crash.

Increase your power slider to max percentage in CCC.

wow it worked, I did 4 tests 1 at stock adn 3 overclocks, 3 of them worked the last overclock ws too much but didnt cause the pc to freeze the game jsut froze thank you. There is one thing different though my google chrome seems to be having graphic issues on all sites pages flicker all over now. I try the same spots in firefox and it doesn't happen.

Nevermind on that google chrome thing, I was thinking it had something to do with the driver crashing on my highest overclock test, restarted pc and its fixed.

That is really strange. Well maybe someone else has ideas?

I found out that it only happens on the memory clock, it has to be clocked from 1250 to 1200 or some games and 3d mark will cause the pc to freeze, the GPU clock runs at stock and overclocked no problem.

Very interesting. Well if you do not want to RMA. Then running at a slightly reduced memory clock really is not that bad.

Core clock is a lot more important.

ok kinda wish I could rma but I waited too long, I didn't really know about the problem until it was to late. The only game I really played at first was Battlefield 3 and with that game I don't experiance crashes, the core and mem clock can both be stock or overclocked and that game doesn't cause the pc to crash i've put int 121 hours on it, it's the same with Battlefield 4 that I recently purchased.

I still think that is something weird. Well why not try a fresh windows install just to make sure its not a DX related issue.

That is normal. Hmm maybe increase it to 1.135v/1.145v, just as a test

That 1,125v reading was from CPUID HWmonitor, I re-downloaded GPU-z and downloaded msi afterburner, GPU-z shows a max of 1.072 and afterburner is showing a max of 1.081 thats during load.

That does not seem right, make it fixed 1.25v.

wish I could i'm just going to have to deal with it at a 1200mhz mem clock on most games anyway, it's just wierd how it crashes at stock on some games and 3d mark and on BAttlefield 3/4 I can even overclock core and memory and have no problems.
