Is the AMD FX-9370 Compatible with the Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard??

I just bought a new FX-9370 AMD chip and i putted in a M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard.
Now i got the problem that i got no screen..
could i be a problem with the TDP because the M5A78L-M/USB3 TDP is 140w and the TDP of the FX-9370 is 220w..

Yes, you can't use the M5A78L-M/USB3 with fx9370, if you want to keep the cpu get the better MB like asus sabertooth 990FX, GA 990FXA-UD5, becaus ethe cpu is huge power consumption you need the top line MB.

i know sometime passed but what motherboard did u get cause i have an asus M5A99fx pro 2.0 and this iis the 2nd one i have and i cant get it to work so if yours work which one did u get?

Hi,
It was for a friend of my but he had tot buy a new motherboard which was like €170. I dont know the exact name but it was one of the top Models from Asrock.

No the m5a99fx will not work with the 9 series.

The "Cheapest" board that supports the 9 series is the ASrock 990fx Fatal1ty Killer board @ 134$.

Being able to "support it" and "run it well without problems" are two very different things.

I do agree the 8320 is the best solution though.
