Good afternoon, everyone. This is going to come across as a completely basic question to some, but completely baffles me. I’m getting a computer from a friend with a A8-3870K processor and a Sapphire Radeon 7770 1GB GPU. I want to, in the next few months, replace the processor with a more powerful AMD processor so I can play some higher end games. I know the board coming with this setup (ASRock A75M-ITX) is not compatible with a higher end AMD processor than what I have, so it needs to be replaced. Two questions: (1) Is there a board out there that is compatible with my current GPU and is able to hold a higher end AMD processor? And (2) Do I need to re-install Windows 7 when I do all of this? Also, any recommendations is more than welcome. I've followed this site for a long time and decided to join today, so I know there are some smart folks on here that could really help me out. Thank you!

Thank you for the response. I’ll have to check with him on the Windows 7 issue, but that wouldn’t be a problem if I had to get a new key. By the way, I’m trying to learn it all, but I’m a newb when it comes to deciphering all the terminology, so I’m a bit ignorant in this field. But to my best understanding what you are saying in the latter portion of your post is that I will have to get a new brand of motherboard entirely, or am I misinterpreting your post?
