Hey guys i am looking for a good, well priced gaming headset and this is what im seriously considering buying.I am wondering what are the differences between the two models. On Amazon the Corsair Vengeance 1500 is $10 more, and there are hardly any reviews for the v2 version. Anyone know the differences between the two. Also if you have any recommendations for gaming headphone sin the 100$ range please leave a suggestion. Thanks for the help!

I just received mine yesterday, and they are pretty fanastic. Although I will say I have to agree with the others that have said they are loud. If you put it into 7.1 it is awesome in FPS games like BF4, but my system volume is at about 4-8 when using them. I'll sometimes go to lower the volume and it'll be off, their loud so you can't always lower them without getting no volume. But you can always just lower in-game volume and get more adjustment. I'll switch to 7.2 for gaming, and 2.0 stereo for music, or general listening. They seem to have good build quality, the part that connects to the top and allows you to rotate the ear-cuffs seems to have been built stronger, but I got a 2-year warranty to be on the safe side. I read somewhere on their website it's made to be more durable and has better speakers. They also redid the in-line piece (Not sure what it's called) so it's lighter and less in the way. I'm getting the V2's after hearing about all the normal 1500's breaking, and I'm getting a 2 year free-replacement warranty on Newegg. If you haven't bought them yet check out Newegg, and maybe get that warranty, two years for the price of one right now. Only reason I'm getting it is because like I said the previous ones were likely to break and with the warranty you don't have to pay shipping to send them back. Also look at the planetronic gamecon 780s, although they also have a habit of breaking and these in my opinion seem to be a lot better the planetronics are $15 cheaper than the v2. Personally I'll be ordering the 1500 V2's tomorrow. If you have an audio card a Corsair 1400 would be better as the 1500 can't beat a 1400 with good soundcard, but for onboard audio the 1500 or 1500 v2 is better.

Hey there, I just bought these the other day. (v2 model) They are fantastic. I use them on both my pc/laptop/ps3/ps4. They work on all of those platforms. The mic quality is very nice as well. This being my first headset, I didn't know what to expect even though I did a fair amount of research. I've been wanting a headset for months, and this headset is awesome. The 7.1 works pretty well and you can definitely notice the difference. Just make sure you download the software from corsair.com and get the little program it uses.

Also the LEDs in the sound control piece are pretty annoying. Very bright an when you turn the mike off they blink, red-blue I wish they would just stay red, but there's nowhere in the software to adjust it.
