I'm building a new computer and when I turned it on for the first time I got a loud pop. Need help!

Does the computer work, if not then I would guess a blown capacitor. First check the motherboard as it requires no disassemble to see its contents, if everything is good there then, if possible, peek into your power supply as it is likely the culprit. If it is the power supply then have it sent to the manufacturer.
